Making lip balm recipes are easy and fun. Plus they keep your lips moist all day long. Have you ever bought a lip balm and had to keep using it all day. Believe it or not some lip balms are designed to dry out your lips so you will have to use more! The recipes below are nutritious and super moisturizing so you don't have to keep reapplying.

Easiest Lip Balm Recipe

4 TBS unmelted beeswax pellets
6 TBS olive oil
3 TBS shea butter
1/2 tsp Vitamin E (optional)
20 drops essential oil (optional)
1/8 tsp powdered stevia (optional)

Melt all ingredients in a double boiler. I like to put a glass pyrex container inside a small pan of water and turn the heat on low. You can add Vitamin E if you would like to preserve it longer. The olive oil in this lip balm recipe can be swapped out for almond oil, jojoba oil or sunflower oil. Avoid grapeseed oil as it can be drying.

Essential oils that I like to use are orange, lime, mandarin and lemon. You can also use peppermint although peppermint sometimes dries the lips out. You can add as much essential oil as your would like for scent. The stevia gives it a nice, sweet taste.

Pour the mixture into tubes or jars. To purchase tubes or jars go to www.sunburstbottle.com. Allow the mixture to cool before putting the lids on.

If you would like some natural flavors like raspberry, vanilla or bubblegum you can purchase organic flavor oils at www.naturesflavors.com. I really like their guava and pina colada.
